Stephen L. Patchett was appointed vice president, commercial credit officer, at the Bank of Castile, said James W. Fulmer, president, chairman and CEO.

Prior to joining the Bank of Castile, he was a vice president in the Commercial Banking Department at Tompkins Trust Company in Ithaca for 10 years. While there, he was involved with the United Way of Tompkins County, the Tompkins and Schuyler County Chambers of Commerce and the Schuyler County Economic Development. He worked for many years for the former Lincoln Rochester, Chase Lincoln and Chase Upstate Division within Rochester and the Southern Tier, ending as vice president and Southern Tier regional manager.


Steven Rosinski of Rochester was named to the fall 2003 dean's list at Lehigh University. To be eligible undergraduates must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and carry at least 12 credit hours.


Raymond Ward of Rochester has been named to the dean's list for the 4th quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A fifth-year student in RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Ward is studying computer engineering.

Ward is the son of Ray and Marie Ward of Cooper Drive, Hilton and a 1999 graduate of Aquinas High School.


Alison M. Kincaid of Spencerport was named to the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement for the fall 2003 semester at The School of Management at Binghamton University. The requirement was a 3.75 GPA for 16 credit hours.


Kimberly Hill, daughter of Larry and Karlene Hill of Chili, has been named to the fall 2003 dean's list at Roberts Wesleyan College for her outstanding academic performance. She is a 2003 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.

Hill, a freshman majoring in early childhood development and special education, achieved the highest honors with a grade point average range from 3.85 to 4.0.


Matthew Court '04 of Spencerport, has earned recognition as a Benjamin Honor Scholar at Elmira College.

Benjamin Honor Scholars also must be a member of the Class of 2004, have attended at least two terms and have earned a 3.4 cumulative grade point average.


The following students enrolled in the L. C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University were named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

  • Jameson Blandford, Summer Hill Drive, Brockport, is a junior majoring in systems and information science.
  • Scott Snyder, Covell Road, Brockport, is a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering.

Adam DesJardin was named to the dean's honor list at the State University of New York at Buffalo for the fall 2003 semester. He is the son of Karen DesJardin of North Chili, and William DesJardin of Holley.

DesJardin is a 2001 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School and upon admission to the University of Buffalo, was selected as an honor scholar. He was also a recipient of the 2001 Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

DesJardin is majoring in computer engineering and will graduate in the spring of 2005.


Courtney Weins, Dunbar Road, Hilton, a student enrolled in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, received a bachelor of science degree in public relations at the end of the fall 2003 semester.

She will be among those honored at the University's 150th commencement ceremony to be held May 9 in the University's Carrier Dome.


Kimberly Golis, a 2003 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Golis, a graphic design major, is the daughter of James and Janell Golis of Churchville.


Nicholas Karras, Keith Terrace, North Chili, enrolled in the College of Human Services and Health Professions at Syracuse University, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.


Kimmie Scheg of Hilton, a 2003 graduate of Nazareth Academy, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade point average for the semester.

Scheg is a freshman, majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Dr. Daniel and Laurie Scheg of Hilton.


Jaclyn Burch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burch of Hilton, is a recipient of the dean's award for academic excellence during the fall 2003 semester at Colgate University, where she is a member of the Class of 2007. To be eligible for the dean's award, a Colgate student must achieve a 3.30 or higher average while carrying a full course load of four courses per semester.

A 2003 graduate of Hilton Central High School, Burch, is concentrating in international relations at Colgate.

She is also a member of the soccer team at Colgate University.


Kimberly Goddard, a student at State University of New York College at Cortland, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 semester. A special education and childhood education major, she is the daughter of David and Jennifer Goddard of Sagewood Drive, Spencerport, and a 2001 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Kristen DiGiacomo '04 of Spencerport, has earned recognition as a Benjamin Honor Scholar at Elmira College.

Benjamin Honor Scholars must be members of the Class of 2004, have attended at least two terms and have earned a 3.4 cumulative grade point average.


Anne Kulli of Hamlin, a graduate student majoring in television, radio and film in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, recently participated in SU's Hollywood Seminar Program. Kulli is a 1999 graduate of Pittsford Sutherland High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Rochester.

The Hollywood Seminar program, now in its 20th year, comprises upperclass and graduate students selected from the television-radio-film department of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications. The program participants hear the firsthand experiences of Hollywood executives (most of them Syracuse alumni) on location at film and television studios and offices and receive behind-the-scenes tours at each site they visit.

The five-day schedule included meetings with Dick Clark '51, chief executive officer of Dick Clark Productions; Ron Meyer, president and chief operating officer of Universal Studios; Peter Guber '64, chairman of Mandalay Entertainment Company; James Miller '63, chairman of Midwood Media and Communications; Rob Light '78 of Creative Artists Agency; Joan Adler '76 of Match Frame; and Doug Robinson '85 of Happy Madison Productions. The Hollywood Seminar Program was established in 1984 by Larry Martin, assistant vice president for Program Development at Syracuse University.


Michael Dobbertin, a sixth grade student at St. Pius Tenth School and the son of John and Kerry Dobbertin, won the Annual Catholic Schools' Week Invitational Spelling Bee on February 2. The spelling bee, held yearly at St. Boniface School, showcases the best 5th and 6th grade spellers from area Catholic schools. Competing against 23 other spellers from area Catholic Schools, and after successfully spelling words such as "mayonnaise" and "acquaint," Michael went on to win a trophy and a fifty dollar U.S. Savings Bond.


Carrie LaDue, daughter of Greg and Gay LaDue, has been named to the fall 2003 dean's list at Keuka College in Keuka Park. LaDue, a senior, is studying business administration.

A Keuka College student must have earned at least a 3.50 grade-point average for each block of at least 12 semester credit hours to be eligible for the dean's list.


Daniel LaDue, son of Greg and Gay LaDue, has been named to the dean's list at Alfred State College.

LaDue earned a 4.0 and is a freshman studying drafting/CAD.


Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has announced the names of students who were named to the Institute's dean's list for the fall semester. The dean's list recognizes full-time students who maintain grade-point averages of a minimum of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 and have no grades below C.

  • Lee V. McOmber, Sherwood Drive, Hilton, a junior majoring in computer and systems engineering, computer science.
  • Cory P. McWilliams, Brewerton Drive, Rochester, a junior majoring in computer science.
  • Vi H. Nguyen, Lansmere Way, Rochester, a senior majoring in computer and systems engineering, computer science.
  • Daniel J. Yanklowski, Hillary Drive, Rochester, a junior majoring in biomedical engineering.

The following area students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University were named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

Robert Stevens of Brockport has been named to the dean's list with distinction at Grove City College. Stevens, majoring in elementary education, earned a grade point average of 3.6 to 3.84 out of a possible 4.0. A 2000 graduate of Brockport High School, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary R. Stevens.


Sandra K. Small, daughter of Jeffrey and Kathryn Small of Chili, has been named to the fall 2003 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. Small, a senior, is a biology and education major. She is a service scholar at St. John Fisher College and is required to perform community service.


James Gaze, Broker Associate with Re/Max First, was recognized by the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors® (GRAR) at their annual meeting. Gaze received his 25 year pin for his years in real estate along with the Sales Master award. The Sales Master award is given to agents who have successfully closed 35 or more transactions and/or achieved a production of $4 million during a 12 month period.

Gaze has over 37 years experience in residential sales. He is also a member of the GRAR Planning committee.


The Rochester Chapter of Women's Council of Realtors (WCR) held their 16th annual Breakfast of Champions to honor 2003 outstanding real estate agents. Joan Greeno was presented with the Zenith Award. The Zenith Award is given to individual agents who had 35 closed transactions in a one-year period.

In addition to sales of existing properties, Greeno is also currently working with builder Ken Brongo of K2 Development in the Spanish Trail subdivision and the new Pond View Estates Subdivision, both in the Ogden/Spencerport area.

Greeno resides in Chili with her husband, Larry, Vice President for Planned Giving at Roberts Wesleyan College. They have four grown children and seven grandchildren.


Realtor Abramo "Brom" Bianchi of Re/Max First received top honor from the Women's Council of Realtors at the 16th Annual Awards Breakfast of Champions Gala. Brom was recognized by the Women's Council of Realtors as a Zenith Award recipient for sales performance in 2003.

To earn such an award, a Realtor must have achieved closed sales of more than $10 million in sales volume for fiscal calendar year. Bianchi has also acquired the following designations: GRI, Graduate of Realtor Institute and CRS, Certified Residential Specialist. He has been specializing in Real Estate in the greater Monroe County area for the past 20 years. He is a life long Rochester resident, graduate of Gates Chili High School and St. John Fisher College.

As an active member of the local community, Bianchi enjoys volunteer work with the School of the Holy Childhood, Town of Gates Commissioner, and volunteer coaching of his children's activities.

The achievement places Bianchi in the top one percent of all Rochester Realtors and Associates.
