Melissa Cleveland of Brick Schoolhouse Road, Hamlin, a physical therapy natural science major, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 semester at Daemen College. She expects to graduate in 2005.


Jennifer L. Windhauser, a resident of Spencerport, and Darren J. Lipomi, a resident of Hilton, have been named to the dean's list at Boston University for the fall semester.


Area Grove City College students who have been named to the dean's list for outstanding academic performance during the fall 2003 semester include:

  • Amy Knight, majoring in elementary education, a 2000 graduate of Spencerport High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Knight of Spencerport, dean's list with high distinction.
  • Jonathan Meyers, majoring in elementary education, a 2000 graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School and the son of Charmian S. Perry of Spencerport.

Jory Crowell of Spenceprort is a 2003 graduate of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. He graduated with high honors receiving a degree in physics and a minor in mathematics. Since August 2003, Crowell has been teaching at the International School in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Besides basic academics, Crowell also coaches the girls basketball team and has started an art club.

The International School has approximately 800 students from pre-school through high school. The goal of the school is to teach the children to grow to be future leaders in their nation. Crowell reports the culture to be both interesting and challenging. His time away from the school is spent enjoying side trips to area islands where he has achieved his certification in scuba diving.

Jory Crowell is the son of Paul and Elaine Crowell of Spencerport.


Gregory G. Schwind, Hilton, an engineering science major and Lester A. Wise, Hamlin, a diesel technology major, were named to the fall 2003 dean's list at SUNY College at Morrisville.

To be named to the dean's list, a student must achieve an average of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.


Chad Hage of Hollybrook Road, Brockport, a student enrolled in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

Hage is majoring in general management.


Fifty students completed graduation requirements in December 2003 and January 2004 at Grove City College. Among them was Robert Stevens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary R. Stevens of Brockport, who received a bachelor of science degree, cum laude, with a major in elementary education.

He is a 2000 graduate of Brockport High School.


The following students are on the dean's list for their outstanding academic achievement for the fall 2003 semester from Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University: Michael B. Burroughs of Hamlin; Sandra E. Czelusniak of Spencerport.


Lacy Morgan, daughter of Barb Barons of Bergen and George Morgan of Churchville has been named to the fall 2003 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.

Morgan, a junior, is a psychology major. She earned a 4.0 for the term.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Katie Voorheis was awarded the Harvey Anderson Student Scholarship at the Press Radio Dinner at the Convention Center in February. Voorheis is a Spencerport resident and senior at Churchville-Chili where she plays soccer and basketball. This past summer, she received the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouts.

Voorheis is a member of St. Christopher's Church and received the Hands of Christ Award for 2004. She is a member of her school National Honor Society.

Katie Voorheis, of Osage Trail in Ogden is the daughter of Deb and Brian Voorheis. She plans to attend SUNY Geneseo, Syracuse University or St. Bonaventure this fall and major in communications.


Robert J. Wright, son of James and Elizabeth Wright of Holley, was named to the fall 2003 dean's list at SUNY Geneseo.

Wright is a business major and a 2002 graduate of Holley High School.

His grandparents are James and Lorraine Wright of Virginia and Charles and Joyce McCullough of Brockport.


Nicholas Falco, a 2000 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School, received dean's list honors for the fall 2003 semester at the University at Buffalo. A participant in the University Honors Program, Falco achieved a 4.0 GPA and is majoring in chemistry.

He is the son of Cathy and Gene Falco of Robbin Crescent in Ogden.
