Spencerport reduces bulk trash pick-up service

Bulk trash pick-up within the village of Spencerport will be reduced this year beginning in March.

Currently, bulk pick-up is scheduled for the first Monday of every month. After the March pickup, bulk items will only be picked up in January, March, May, July and September.

The change is part of the upcoming village budget.

"The crews are needed to handle extensive road repairs and the labor had to be reallocated without increasing costs," Spencerport Superintendent of Public Works Tom West said. "This was the most efficient way of handling that."

Residents who are moving between the time of bulk pick-up would need to get a dumpster placed on site by the village, West said.
