Hilton French students get backstage passes to "Les Miserables"
French IV and V students from Hilton High School experienced history and language at the Rochester performance of "Les Miserables" last month at the Auditorium Theater in Rochester: Students had just read the Victor Hugo classic in class. Backstage passes allowed the students to talk to members of the company who presented the themes and story they had read. The students also had the opportunity to meet with Tanya Dixon who played Fantine in the show and ask her questions about character portrayal. Students also heard from the stage director who was able to give the behind the scene answers to how the show is actually run. "It was neat to see how involved the students got with this story. Many were shocked with how complex the scenes were and how much emotion was delivered in the performance," teacher Amy Ward said. "We had a wonderful time!"
