The Brockport Symphony Orchestra
welcomes special guests
The Brockport Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Conductor Ryan Brown, returns for a special performance with piano soloist Deborah Clasquin. The Symphony will accompany Clasquin as she performs Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 on Saturday, March 20 at 3 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on State Street in Brockport.
In addition to featuring Clasquin's powerful piano performance, the Symphony also will welcome Soprano soloist Erika Brause, who will be performing Mozart's Motet "Exsulate, Jubilate" and guest conductor Donald Messina conducting J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major. Mozart's Serenade for Winds and Villa-Lobo's Bachinanas Brasileiras No. 5 complete the afternoon's program.
Known for her powerful performances and sensitive artistry, Clasquin's solo career has spanned the United States and Europe. Clasquin, a Professor of Music and senior member of the keyboard faculty at Humboldt State University in California, studied under world renowned musicians Menachem Pressler, Leon Fleisher, Malcom Frager, Josef Gingold and Janos Starker. Clasquin has performed with acclaimed violinist Terrie Baune and as a member of the Bresquan Trio. She also has been featured on National Public Radio's "Performance Today."
Admission for this special performance is $7 general admission, seniors and students $5 and children under 12 enter free of charge.
