Christine Walker of Churchville has been named to the dean's list for the fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A second-year student in the School of Design, she is studying interior design. Having been named to the dean's list for all quarters, this quarter Walker earned a 4.0 GPA.

She is the daughter of Steve and Peggy Walker and is a 2002 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Barbara Jean Goodrich has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Elon University, North Carolina. She was also awarded a Presidential Scholarship.

Goodrich is the daughter of Richard and Donna Goodrich of Clarendon and a graduate of Holley High School.


The following students are spending the Spring 2004 semester studying in Strasbourg, France, through Syracuse University's Division of International Programs Abroad.

  • Amanda Poole, Church Road, Hilton. Poole is a junior majoring in international relations at Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Margarita Abaunza, East Lee Road, Holley. Abaunza is a junior majoring in international business administration at Rochester Institute of Technology.

The following students are spending the Spring 2004 semester studying in Florence, Italy through Syracuse University's Division of International Programs Abroad.

  • Adam McWilliams, Brewerton Drive, Rochester. McWilliams is a junior majoring in architecture at Syracuse University's School of Architecture.
  • Marc Valerio, DaVinci Drive, Rochester. Valerio is a junior majoring in accounting at Syracuse University's Martin J. Whitman School of Management.

Tessa C. Murante, daughter of Debra and David Murante of Hubbell Road, Churchville, is a member of the 2004 Hamilton College Women's Outdoor Track and Field team. Hamilton will start the season at the West Point Invitational at West Point, New York on March 27. The team will host SUNY Oswego in a dual meet on April 13 and the Hamilton Invitational on April 17.

Murante, a first-year student, is a graduate of Aquinas Institute.


Roberts Wesleyan College Nursing Honor Society, seeking to become a part of a chapter-at-large of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, inducted the following local members: Martha Mullane, Christine Nelson-Tuttle, Sharon Davis, Colleen Coltoniak, Barbara Briggs, Pamela Elsbree, Jodi Polarek, Christina Dodd, Jill Hockeborn, Kim Callihan, Katie Waltermire, Michele Cone, Ann Mattice, Deborah Krembel, Linda Holmes, Sharon Martino, Roslynn Harris, Katherine Sheridan, Tracy Standish, Erika Reinhardt-Peters.


Kelly Stevens is one of four women at Oneonta State to earn All-American honors in track and field at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship. The foursome recently placed eighth in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:10.67, six seconds ahead of the ninth place team and two seconds out of seventh spot, qualifying for All American rank.

Stevens competed in her preliminary of the 800 meter run in which she ran a 2:16.11 to put her in the finals in her event. The following day she clocked a time of 2:16.46 to place fifth overall and earn her All American honors in the event.

Stevens, of Rochester, is a 2000 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Marine Corps Pfc. Andrew T. Ehnot, son of Noreen J. and Raymond A. Ehnot of Brockport, graduated from the Ammunition Technician Specialist Course while assigned to Marine Corps Detachment Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

During the course, Ehnot was instructed on the basics of automated accountability, receipt, storage, issue, handling and inventory of ammunition.

He is a 2003 graduate of Brockport High School.
