Book donations can raise funds for nursing scholarships

The Lucretia H. Richter Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund, Inc. (formerly Western New York League for Nursing) is collecting used books to be sold at its Annual Book Fair to be held at Perinton Square Mall, Routes 250 and 31, on April 22, 23 and 24. Proceeds are used to support the organization's nursing scholarship program. Awards have been given to deserving nursing students for over 35 years.

All kinds of used books are needed, including hardcovers and paperbacks, fiction and non-fiction, reference works, cookbooks, recent textbooks, and children's books. Sheet music, records, cassettes, CDs, video tapes and puzzles will also be accepted.

Over 25 hospitals, health agencies, colleges, and nursing homes are serving as collection sites this year. Collection sites in this area include Roberts Wesleyan College, SUNY Brockport, Park Ridge Hospital and Lakeside Memorial Hospital. Donations of books and other materials may be left at these locations until April 15.
