BOCES 2 SkillsUSA Career and
Technical Education students receive awards
SkillsUSA students at BOCES 2's WE-MO-CO Career and Technical Education Center received awards for placing first, second or third place in the statewide skills competition held at SUNY Alfred in March. The students competed in their field of study ranging from baking to welding against career and technical education students across the state. Students who placed first at the state competition move on to the national competition held in Kansas in June.
SkillsUSA is an international organization that promotes leadership and professional development for students enrolled in vocational schools. SkillsUSA students participate in skills competitions, attend leadership conferences and sponsor social events and community service projects.
