C-C students to compete at USA Hockey Nationals
Churchville-Chili High School student-athletes Lindsay Pegler and Liz Zorn will be competing at the 2004 USA Hockey Girls National Championships at the ESL Sports Centre beginning March 31 and running through April 4. The National Championships will bring over 200 teams to the Rochester area with some of the best female hockey players competing for the Championship in the 19, 16, 14, 12 and under age groups.
A senior at Churchville-Chili High School, Lindsay Pegler plays defense for the Buffalo Bisons, who won their fourth straight New York State Tier 1 Championship held this year at Potsdam. That win advances them to their fourth consecutive appearance at the USA Hockey Nationals.
Pegler will be attending Cornell University, where she will play Division I hockey for the Big Red.
Liz Zorn, a sophomore at Churchville-Chili High School, plays forward for the Rochester Edge. The Edge finished second in the state championship and received a qualifying bid to nationals as the host of this year's tournament. Zorn is the top goal scorer for the Edge, scoring 38 goals with 54 points in 51 games and also serves as an alternate captain. The Edge finished their regular season as 16 and under league champions.
