The Spencerport Soccer Club held a Logo Design Contest. Players and immediate family members were invited to share their artistic talents. A total of 16 entries were received and voted upon by the club. Winners were announced at the club's monthly meeting held on March 14. First place, and a $200 mall gift certificate, went to Tom Martuscello for his design that depicts the Erie Canal lift bridge and also incorporated soccer into its theme. This new design will be used on all uniforms, equipment, apparel and correspondence as the new "image" for the club. Second place and a $100 mall gift certificate went to Sara Venezky. A $50 gift certificate for third place went to Allison Dietrick. The Spencerport Soccer Club was founded over 20 years ago and consists of approximately 325 players between the ages of 8 and 19. The season runs from early May through the end of July. All games are typically played throughout Monroe County. The Soccer Club will be holding its 14th Annual Invitational Tournament June 25-27.
