Jillian Birnie, 2002 graduate of Wheatland-Chili High School, has been named to the dean's list at Niagara University for the third consecutive quarter.

Birnie has been inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma, NHS of Catholic Colleges and Universities, Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society, and in April she will be inducted into Pi Lambda Theta, the NHS for Education.

Birnie will be studying abroad this summer in the Netherlands. She is the daughter of Scott and Charlene Birnie of Scottsville and the granddaughter of Ron and Carol Birnie of Spencerport.


Carla Longobardi, of Ryan's Run, Rochester, has been named to the dean's list for the winter quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A third-year student in RIT's College of Applied Science and Technology, Longobardi is studying hotel and resort management.

She is the daughter of Carmen and Maureen Longobardi and a 2001 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Joseph Burris of Hamlin took first place in the RTMA Apprentice competition in February. He now moves on to the regional competition April 15. Burris is a graduate of Brockport High, WE-MO-CO and Monroe Community College in the machine industry field. He is employed at Micro Instruments.


Scott Snyder, Covell Road, Brockport, a freshman majoring in chemical engineering at Syracuse University, was honored at the Programs Rooted in Developing Excellence (PRIDE) Program for academic and leadership excellence in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University.


Amy Elizabeth Briggs of North Chili received a bachelor of science in education degree from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.


Michael Palermo, a freshman at St. John Fisher College, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 semester.

Palermo participates on the St. John Fisher Cardinals baseball team. Palermo was named male athlete of the week of March 28. He is the son of Martha and Gary Palermo of Spencerport.


Ann Bliss, daughter of Terry and Cookie Bliss, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, Massachusetts. She is a freshman majoring in English and is a 2003 graduate of Kendall High School.


Colleen J. Corcoran, a freshman in the school of music, at Duquesne University, was named to the spring 2004 dean's list.

The dean's list recognizes full-time students who have maintained at least a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, with no grade lower than a C.
