Holley residents face
six more months of road construction
By the end of October, Holley residents and business owners will likely see the wrap-up of the $6 million road project that has been underway for the past year.
Last year new sidewalks, curbs and drainage were installed and the road in the Public Square was reconstructed. The work slowed traffic through Holley's business district but it is anticipated that this year's project won't have as much of an impact on those downtown merchants. This year's construction, being completed by Keeler Construction, will be on both the east and west ends of Route 31 and won't have as much impact on the downtown area.
Keeler Construction crews plan to begin work on storm sewers on the east and west ends of Route 31, the completion of both projects could take up to nine weeks. Following the storm sewer portion of the construction, a new road will be built. There will be one lane traffic while the rebuilding is underway.
Orleans County Chamber of Commerce's Executive Director David Kelly said the OCCC will work to inform residents and businesses of the weekly construction schedule.
