Taylor student receives honorable mention

Robert Macko, a fifth grader at Terry A. Taylor Elementary School in Spencerport, was awarded Honorable Mention in the "Letters About Literature National Reading and Writing Contest." He had to choose a book that inspired him and write the author a letter explaining why the book was inspiring. He had to tell how the book made a difference in his life. Robert chose the book, The Life You Imagine: Life Lessons For Achieving Your Dreams by Derek Jeter. He described how the book inspired him to strive for higher goals in life. His teacher is Mary Montenaro who learned of the contest through a display at the Ogden Farmers' Library.
