Girl Scouts honor Brockport volunteer
The Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley, Inc. (GSGV) honored outstanding volunteers at its 13th Annual Adult Recognition Gala at the Holiday Inn-Airport on Thursday, April 22.
"We applaud the contributions of our more than 5,000 adult volunteers who actively enrich the lives of girls and young women in our community," said Ann Sartwell, GSGV Chief Executive Officer. "Girl Scout volunteers are exceptional people. We are pleased to recognize the special efforts of our volunteers who enable girls to develop skills necessary to succeed in our global economy."
The council presented a Key People Award to Vicki Lind and Penny Bielewicz of the Brockport Service Unit. This award is presented to first-year service unit managers for playing a key role in sustaining and supporting Girl Scouting.
The Circle of Friends Award was presented to the Brockport Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E. #2110. This award is given to an organization which has given time, talent or treasure to the Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley.
