School Bus Road-eo June 5

Penfield Central School District will host the 26th Annual Rochester Area School Bus Safety Road-eo on Saturday, June 5 beginning at 7:30 a.m. Road-eo Co-Chairs, Loretta Hutchinson and Raymond Hart, expect approximately 100 school bus professionals from school bus operators from the Greater Rochester Area.

The Rochester Area School Bus Safety Road-eo is conducted annually by a member of the National Association of Pupil Transportation which includes public school districts and private school bus contractors. Penfield Central School District last hosted the RASBSR in 1990. Winners of the local School Bus Safety Road-eo advance to the state competition held in Albany on July 10.

The Rochester Area Road-eo is actually three different competitions held concurrently: a competition of school bus driving skills and knowledge which includes maneuvering through an obstacle course, a competition of abilities and knowledge for professionals transporting special needs students, and a competition of school bus mechanics and technicians.
