Northwood students are "Fire Safety Authors"
The North Greece Fire Department has made a special effort to help students at Hilton's Northwood Elementary School learn about fire safety and share what they've learned with others. On May 14, North Greece Fire Department Fireman Kevin Magin and members of the department visited Northwood fifth graders who had been working on books featuring safety measures such as "crawl low under smoke;" EDITH drills - exit drills within the home; get out stay out; and stop drop and roll. Students created read-aloud books including Slavic Voronin, right, who is reading to his younger brother, Roman Voronin. Slavic is a student in teacher Veronica Robillard's class. The students also enjoyed an ice cream snack provided by the fire department.
