Alessi nets four in Ranger win
Jennifer Alessi scored four goals and Cassie Moyer added three goals and an assist as Spencerport defeated Brockport 18-5 in the final regular season girls lacrosse game of the season.
The Rangers led 9-0 in the first half before Brockport's Molly Pricola scored the first of her three goals on a backhand shot with an assist from Jodi Plantone. Spencerport ended the first half with goals by Alessi, Dana Chubb and Lauren Hochreiter to lead 13-2.
The Rangers came out strong in the second half on goals by Laura Stultz, Chubb and Katie Clark for a commanding 17-2 lead before the Blue Devils scored three of the final four goals - one each from Adie Trento, Pricola and Bre Toscano.
Spencerport, in just their second season as a varsity team, finished with a 3-13 record including a loss to Pittsford in the first round of the playoffs. Brockport, in their first varsity season, lost to Penfield in the playoffs to conclude their season.
Seniors for the Rangers playing their final regular season game were Amanda Brandt, Clark, Alicia Curatolo, Diana Hemm, Gina Martuscello, Moyer, Kim Pulhamus, Samantha Rhow, Katelyn Smith, Karen Stevens and Stultz. For Brockport, the nine seniors were Pricola, Trento, Plantone, Sarah Rath, Michelle Baker, Hannah Chapman, Lindsay Roberts, Kelly Leyrer and Becky Day.
