Chili Recreation programs
The 15th Annual Chil-E Festival is scheduled for July 23, 24, 25 and will be held at Memorial Park, 3235 Chili Avenue. In addition to Midway Rides of Utica and food booths, evening entertainment is as follows; Ruby Shooz - 8 to 11 p.m. Friday; 7th Heaven - 8 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Nik & the Nice Guys - 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday. A fireworks display will be held at 9:30 p.m. Sunday night. Advanced carnival tickets are available. Call 889-4680 for details.
Summer Playground Program held Monday through Friday weather permitting - begins June 28 and runs through August 13. Includes playground activities plus field trips. 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Davis, Hubbard, Memorial Park, Paul Road and Brasser Schools. Ages 6 through 14 are grouped together. Register in person at the old Town Hall facility, 3235 Chili Avenue, June 11, noon to 5 p.m. and June 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parent or legal guardian must register child(ren). Fees: $60 for one family member, $70 for two family members, $80 for three or more family members. Non-residents add $80 per child.
- Men's and Women's Golf, evening lessons at Chili Country Club, Tuesday and Thursdays, June 1 to June 24, Session 1; and July 6 to July 29; Session two 7 to 8 p.m. $29 residents and $31 non-residents. Need 10 participants to be held.
- Women's Morning Golf Lessons - Chili Country Club. Monday and Wednesday, July 12 to August 4, 9 to 10 a.m. $29 residents, $31 non-residents. Need 10 participants to hold lessons.
- Youth Golf Lessons - Chili Country Club, Tuesdays and Thursday, 9 to 10 a.m., July 6 through July 29, ages 12-18 years old. $21 residents and $23 non-resident. 20 limit max. In case of rain call Club House, 889-9325.
- Youth Swimming - held at RIT Pool. Transportation is from playgrounds. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. or 10 a.m., July 6 through July 29. For ages seven years and older. There are eight one hour sessions. $25 resident and $30 non-resident
- Youth Tennis Lessons - Memorial Park tennis courts July 5 to August 6, ages 4 to 18 years old, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. Tiny Tots 8:15-8:45, Beginners 9 to 10, Intermediate 10:15-11:30, High School 12:15-1:45. $14 residents and $16 non-residents.

New this summer
Summer tennis on Saturdays with Dave Strebel, Certified USPTS. For ages 5 years and over. June 26 to July 24 (four classes), July 31 to August 21 (four classes); 8:30 to 10 a.m., at Gates Chili Tennis Courts. $47.
Open Air Pavilion - Davis Park has two pavilions. $15; with electricity $20. Call 889-4680 for availability and application.

A Time To Grow Playcare: Runs year round, call 594-2030. Ages 2 to 5 years old. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. $8 a day per child, $15 a day for two siblings.
- A Time To Grow Preschool: Call 247-3532 or 538-4392. Classes available for 3, 4 & 5 year old children. Two day pre-school classes and three day pre-kindergarten classes. Registration accepted for September 2004.
- Karate: Call 594-2030, sign up any time. Black Belt Instructors for ages 5 and up. Ages 5 to 7, Tuesday and Thursday, 6 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 to 10:30 a.m. ages 8 and up. Tuesday and Thursday, 7 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 to 10:30 a.m. New daytime classes.
- Dog Obedience: Call 889-0501 for registration info. For dogs 8 weeks and older. Held Wednesday evening or Saturday morning.
- Body Tones: Call 594-2030 for fee and registration. Exercise to music. Group Fitness Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Pilates fitness Monday, 6 to 7 p.m. Regular class Monday, 7 to 8 p.m.; Wednesday, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 to 10 a.m. Srs. Class (55+) Tuesday and Thursday, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Special rates for seniors 6 to 8 week sessions.
- Summer Dance: Call 594-2030 for details. Classes offered are Tap, Ballet and Tumbling, Beginners Jazz and Creative Movement.
- Tap/Ballet: Call 594-2030 to pre-register and for fee. For ages 4-8. Classes held Wednesday and Friday. Ballet shoes recommended, plus hard sole shoes for tap. Children will be taught the basics of both dance forms. Boys and girls welcome.
- Fit in It In: Call 594-2030 for information and fees. A program designed to encourage movement. For ages 6 and up.
