Boy Scout Troop 292 holds Eagle Scout
Court of Honor
Boy Scout Troop 292 held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on May 20, at the Churchville-Chili Intermediate School to recognize Michael Deal and James Richards for earning the rank of Eagle For his Eagle Scout service project, Michael Deal organized a group of scouts to clear and mulch trails at Black Creek Park. James Richards Eagle project included building and installing five benches and a large sign at the Paul Road School Nature Center in Chili.
Michael is the son of Matthew and Lisa Deal and brother to Jen and Kim. Currently a senior at Gates Chili High School, Mike began scouting as a Tiger cub in Pack 402 at Paul Road School and progressed through scouting before earning his Eagle rank in February 2004. He plans to attend MCC in the fall, with the eventual goal of becoming an architect.
James is the son of Sue and Dan Richards and brother to John and Amy. A senior at Gates Chili High School, James participates on the varsity cross country and swim teams. James began scouting as a Tiger in Pack 402, joined Troop 292 in 1997 where he progressed through the ranks before completing his Board of Review in April 2004. James will be attending SUNY Fredonia in the fall to study business administration and management.
The ceremony included awarding Scout and Tenderfoot Rank to Louie Bususon, Casey Chamberlain, Ryan Enright, Jesse Johnson and Eric Reesc. Second Class Rank was awarded to Andrew Burns, David Fink, Jared Lepore, John Maffett, Joey Meleca, Nick Scipioni, Ian Shelanskey and Steven Williamson. First Class Rank went to David Fink, Jared LePore, Ryan McConnell and Ian Shelanskey. Brandon Statt and Sam Updike received their Star Rank. In addition, Michael Fox was awarded the Roman Catholic Religious Emblem: Ad Altare Dei.
