Katie Voorheis of Osage Trail in Spencerport was voted Churchville-Chili High School 2004 Female Athlete of the Year. She received the award at the Sports Banquet at the Diplomat Party House. Voorheis received the Harvey Anderson Scholarship this past winter at the Press-Radio Dinner in February. She is the first C-C athlete (boy or girl) to win Section V titles in three major sports: soccer, basketball and softball. She has been named All-County in all three sports.

Voorheis, a senior at Churchville-Chili, is a member of National Honor Society and Foreign Language Society. She carries a 95.8 academic average and was named to the Academic All State Team.

Katie resides in Ogden with her parents, Deb and Brian Voorheis and will be attending Syracuse University this fall.


The Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley, Inc. has elected Karin M. Stroh of Spencerport as a member-at-large on its Board of Directors. Stroh, manager of worldwide strategic public relations at Xerox, currently promotes Xerox's high-end printing products. Previously, she managed speaking opportunities for the CEO, Anne Mulcahy, working with media outlets.

Girls Scouts of Genesee Valley's Board of Directors is charged with governing the council and strengthening links between Girl Scouts and community networks.
