Appleton wins Brockport Rotary Club's Citizen for 2004-2005

Brockport Rotary Past President Norm Knight is shown above with Steven Appleton, Appleton's friend and colleague Mary Beth Dolan and Incoming President Gary Zimmer. Appleton won the Brockport Rotary Club's Citizen for 2004-2005 because of his dedicated cultural efforts on behalf of the community, namely the Cool Kids Summer Program, Summer Serenade Program and other Generation Cool projects that improve cultural understanding for people of all ages. This is the second year that Rotary has presented the award, which is intended to spotlight an individual who gives much to the Brockport community, making it a better place in which to live. Appleton is passionate about his programs that are designed to entertain and educate. While Cool Kids originated in Brockport, Appleton has extended the reach of Cool Kids to the SUNY Brockport campus, Genesee CC and Rochester. Appleton thanked BISCO for crucial support in helping to build the program.
