Fundraising run scheduled

A special fund-raising 5K run is planned for Saturday, July 24 with all race proceeds going directly to assist Sara Minni's medical expenses. She is a local six-year old who has brain cancer. To date, she has undergone five operations and has been through 10 chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Her last operation was in March, and the cancer has again returned.

This run will raise funds to take Sara to a cancer treatment clinic in Texas. The "Mini Mile 5K for Sara" will start and finish at the Village Community Center in Hilton and will begin at 9 a.m. sharp. Trophies for the top male and female finishers within nine different age categories will be awarded following the race.

Pre-registration is being handled by the Hilton-Parma Recreation Department, but runners can also register on race day beginning at 8 a.m. For information, call H-P Recreation at 392-9030.
