Brockport's historic Morgan Manning House was the setting for the celebration of the birth of the country and the 175th Anniversary of the village. Senator George Maziarz joined the celebration and presented Mayor Josephine Matela and Village Historian Jackie Morris with a plaque in honor of Brockport's anniversary. Entertainment for the afternoon was provided by the Brockport High School Band and the Excelsior Cornet Band. The cornet ensemble is central New York's only authentic Civil War brass band. Founded in 2001, the band is dedicated to the performance of original Civil War music using actual instruments of the period. |
