Village of Churchville awarded two grants

Two grants have been awarded to the Village of Churchville by the NYS Archives Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund. One grant is to have a Geographic Information System (GIS) needs assessments for a village and town-wide system. The needs assessment is a plan to develop GIS for effective use by all departments within the village and outlying Town of Riga, and the first step towards the village's and town's implementation of GIS.

The second grant will fund the purchase of Cemetery Office Management software to facilitate efficient record retrieval and maintenance of the Village's Creekside Cemetery. The cemetery will be mapped into a GIS format programmed and linked to the cemetery database.

These two grants were written by Nancy Steedman, trustee for the Village of Churchville, and total $17,595.
