BOCES 2 appoints
interim superintendent
Dr. Clark J. Godshall, district superintendent and chief executive officer of the Orleans-Niagara BOCES, was appointed by Commissioner of Education Richard P. Mills as acting district superintendent of Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES upon the retirement of Tod Eagle in July. Godshall began his duties on July 8. A new district superintendent is expected to be in place by January 1, 2005.
Godshall has served as district superintendent at Orleans-Niagara BOCES for the past four years and served as assistant superintendent there for 11 years. Prior to that, he was assistant superintendent of Penn Yan Central School District for five years and a science teacher in the Hilton Schools. Godshall is a adjunct professor in SUNY Brockport's Educational Administration Program.
Godshall is very familiar with BOCES 2 having served in various capacities in the Greece and Spencerport school districts. "I enjoy the opportunity to gain new ideas when serving as an interim and am well acquainted with the quality reputation of the Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES, their staff and administrators," he said.
Godshall is a hands-on administrator frequently making classroom visits and working closely with the component school districts. He said he plans to be on-site weekly and attend other BOCES 2 functions while continuing to run the Orleans-Niagara BOCES.
He and his wife, Dr. Barbara Godshall, the director of special programs for the Medina Central School District, reside in Barker.
