Auction of film buff's
collections disburses "The Klein's" estate
Local celebrity and former WHAM entertainment critic Bill Klein's collection of memorabilia will be available to the public at an auction at 3283 Roosevelt Highway, Hamlin on Thursday, August 26 beginning at 4 p.m.
Klein, 60, suffered a fatal heart attack on February 18, 2004 prior to starting a speaking engagement. An avid film buff and entertainment critic, Klein was on Rochester's radio station WHAM-1180 AM for more than 30 years. He began his broadcast career in 1968.
Included in the estate of "The Klein" will be real estate; collections of hundreds of books, records, VCR tapes; signed ink drawings; many household items; tools and a car. In addition to Klein's personal goods, his three bedroom ranch home will also be available during the auction. Bidding on the home begins at 5:30 p.m.
The sale is being handled by Harris Wilcox Auctioneers.
