Brockport officials going door-to-door
On August 28, every home in the Village of Brockport's northwest quadrant as well as other streets where there is mixed student/residential housing will be visited. Mayor Josephine Matela said all of the houses will be receiving a door hanger package filled with information compiled from the police and fire departments, code enforcement office and from the college. "The information will clearly spell out New York State rules and regulations regarding alcohol consumption, the village's laws on open containers as well as common sense information for the students on fire safety," Matela said. "The door hangers will also include information on how and where to call for help and information."
The door-to-door campaign will involve village officials as well as law enforcement, code enforcement and officials from the college campus. Matela said SUNY representatives produced the information for the door hangers at no charge for the village to distribute.
