Code review committee formed in Brockport
In an effort to update outdated and irrelevant codes within the Village of Brockport, a code review committee has been formed. The committee includes a representation of individuals from across the village from board members to a resident-at-large from the college and Archie Kutz from Lift Bridge Books to represent the business community.
Mayor Josephine Matela said that last year village officials knew there were several codes that needed to be looked at and the committee was formed to begin the process. "We need to update the codes to suit the way we do business as a village today," she said. "Just like any business, we have to keep up with the times."
Codes range from regulations for sidewalk maintenance to use of the village's parks. "We want to remain modern in our codes so we can best serve the village and its residents," Matela said.
