Fire leaves family homeless
Thirty-five members of the Hamlin Fire Department responded to a house fire on Brookedge Drive on August 31 that left one family homeless.
"The fire started in the garage and extended into the attic," Hamlin Fire Chief Ralf Kurzowski said. "Our interior and exterior crews worked together to extinguish the fire."
The cause of the fire which caused extensive damage to the garage, the attic and two bedrooms is under investigation. Red Cross is assisting the family with lodging. The Walker Fire Department and the Brockport Fire Department assisted.
