Senator selected for New York Farm Bureau honor
The New York Farm Bureau, the state's largest general farm advocacy organization, has selected Senator George D. Maziarz (62nd District) as a member of the "Circle of Friends." This prestigious distinction was bestowed in light of Maziarz's legislative record during the 2004 session.
"New York state's number one industry is agriculture," Maziarz said, "and I'm committed to making sure that our farming families get the help they need. We have world renowned growers right here in our backyard and I will keep working in Albany to make sure they are well represented."
The Circle of Friends award is based upon voting records on issues of importance to New York agriculture, as well as other evidence of legislative support. Membership is reserved for only those who actively support the farm families of New York state and is renewed at the end of each legislative session.
Maziarz also received the Circle of Friends recognition in 2003, 2002 and 2000.
