Hilton School District
opens full-day kindergarten
Hilton Central School District welcomed back 4,494 students including Kara Phillips, Brendan Zacks and Madison Murphy, three of the district's 284 full-day kindergarteners. Hilton also welcomed 20 new teachers to its 400-member faculty. "It was a smooth opening throughout our schools," Superintendent of Schools Tod Eagle said. Among the changes in Hilton were the three new youth assistants stationed at all three elementary schools greeting visitors at the schools' new entrances. At Hilton High School construction continued on the new main entrance and classroom additions as well as the commons cafeteria and library. A new commons cafeteria will open next semester. This year 55 new classrooms were opened, adding 140,000 square feet of instructional space.
