instructor wins championship S&S Fitness Gym & Martial Arts Center hosted the Junior Invitational Championships at the Brockport Oliver Middle School on July 10. The tournament had over 70 competitors under the age of 17. The youth competed in kata, weapons, clicker fighting and semi-contact fights. The champions of the advanced boys and advanced girls semi-contact divisions were awarded IFK/Junior Champions with championship belts. Bethany Gill (pictured) and Shaheen Hicks were this year's winners. Both fighters are members of the IFK/USA (International Federation of Kyokushin Karate - USA). Gill is one of the head instructors at S&S Fitness Gym and Martial Arts Center located in Hamlin. |
