New website enhances New York travel experience

Throughout the state, many destinations welcome tourists - New York City, the Thousand Islands and the Adirondacks, for example. From Lake Ontario to the historic Erie Canal Heritage Trail, the region boasts some of the most rewarding of all New York attractions. As the summer comes to an end, our renowned fall foliage will soon arrive. New York is a state for all seasons.

Navigating your way across the Empire State is as easy as navigating the Internet, thanks to the new Travel Information Gateway. A function of the state Transportation Federation, the Gateway is a website that provides regional and area highway maps, along with information on accidents, road closures and weather emergencies. It can be accessed at www.travelinfony.com.

Another asset to New York travelers is the 2004 I LOVE NEW YORK Autumn Vacation Guide, which is available by calling 1-800-ILOVENY, or visiting www.iloveny.com. The 32 page guide provides tourists and residents with everything they need to enjoy a colorful autumn in New York. It includes suggestions for scenic road trips, guides to various fall events, and an insert with apple recipes, post cards and games for children.

By taking advantage of these resources, you can explore all the state has to offer. For a free 2004 I LOVE NEW YORK Autumn Guide, fall foliage reports, attraction and events information, visit the websites or call the New York State Travel Information Center, at 1-800-CALL-NYS.
