Byron-Bergen hosts fifth grade orientation
Fifth grade orientation was held Tuesday, September 7 at Byron-Bergen Middle School. This event is held to help students get acclimated to a new building. Fifth grade is the first year in middle school for students and that means switching classes and using lockers in a new, bigger building for the first time. The students and their parents meet their new counselor, teachers and principal. The teachers explain the rules, expectations and policies. The families are taken on a tour of the building and offered dinner sponsored by the Byron-Bergen PTA.
The orientation, combined with a visit to the middle school as fourth graders, makes the transition much easier on the students.
