Hamlin Fire Department hosts open house

Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department will host an Open House on Sunday, October 10 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Hamlin Firehouse, 1521 Lake Road.

A series of mini lessons will be run at various locations around the firehouse and grounds to show visitors how the volunteers serve the community. Firefighters will be on hand to answer questions.

The public is invited to find out what it's like to be inside a fire truck, put on the personal protective equipment, find out what the role of the fire police is, what kind of equipment is in the communications room and what the department is going to do with the new activities building.

The Hamlin Fire Department is an all volunteer organization that has provided the community with fire, rescue and EMS services since 1927.
