Seymour Library launches automation upgrade
Seymour Library has upgraded their library automation system. Starting in October, patrons will enjoy new cutting-edge computers throughout the entire library.
"This upgrade has effectively tripled the Internet access terminals in the Seymour Library," said Library Director Jennifer Ries-Taggart. "We have gone from four to 12 stations. New software will allow patrons to post their resumes online. A new computer station has been installed in the Local History Room and is dedicated solely for local history and genealogy use. This is an impressive undertaking for a library of this size. I am proud to be a part of it."
The upgrade's major advantage to library patrons is less wait-time and more opportunity to access the library catalog, databases, software programs and the Internet.
"This comprehensive upgrade positions the library to take the best advantage of the Monroe County Library System's county-wide automation upgrade expected in early spring of 2005," said Ries-Taggart.
