GCC looks to construct new student union

Genesee Community College's Board of Trustees recently received preliminary sketches of the new student union.

The new student union would be located on the northeast side of the existing Batavia Campus structure. It will be linked to the existing complex by a connector corridor leading off the current student lounge area.

The building will house a large group area, social and game room, student activities offices, student government offices, a small cafe and multi-purpose meeting rooms.

The college hopes to begin construction about March 1, 2005.
