Don Alhart to MC Lakeside's annual dinner

Don Alhart, associate news director and anchor of WOKR, Channel 13 News, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for Lakeside Foundation's 16th Annual Gala Dinner featuring four star General Tommy Franks. This year's event will be held on Friday, December 10 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Last year, Alhart enjoyed a private interview with Former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani at Lakeside Health System.

Alhart first participated as Lakeside's MC when he helped welcome President Gerald Ford. Since that time, he has enjoyed meeting many world leaders who have been Lakeside keynote speakers including President George Bush, Generals Colin Powel and Norman Schwarzkopf, the Right Honorable John Major former Prime Minister of Great Britain, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and Walter Cronkite.

Alhart is also a poet and has entertained the audience each year with the reciting of a poem which he writes during the evening program. His participation has become a tradition at the gala event and he is enjoyed by guests and volunteers, as well as the guest speaker, said Susan Fanara, chair of the dinner planning committee.
