Village of Spencerport Electric Department offers ENERGY STAR® appliance program
The Village of Spencerport, in conjunction with the Independent Energy Efficiency Program, Inc. (IEEP), will offer a new ENERGY STAR® appliance program called The Spencerport Appliance Advantage. This program's goal is to encourage Spencerport residential customers to upgrade their appliances to ENERGY STAR® appliances. With the purchase and installation of an approved ENERGY STAR home appliance, village residents can receive incentives up to $125 per appliance with The Spencerport Appliance Advantage. There is a maximum incentive of $1,000 per customer for this program. A few other Municipal Public Power Systems throughout the state are offering similar incentive programs.
The Village of Spencerport Electric Department has been offering energy efficiency programs to their customers since the mid 1990s. Jack Linder, Electric Superintendent, Village of Spencerport Electric Department, stated, "We assist our customers by offering energy efficient products like ENERGY STAR® labeled products, which in turn has a positive effect on the environment, reduces our customer's electric costs, and our peak load."
ENERGY STAR® labeled products are said to require less money and less energy to operate.
Residential electric customers can receive more information and obtain an application at the Village of Spencerport Electric Department, 27 West Avenue, Spencerport, NY, Hi-Qual Heating & Cooling Inc., Ritchie Family Hardware, Unique Shop, IGA, Page Appliances, or by contacting the sub-contractor HDMC at (315) 463-7208.
