Raiders sweep individual honors
at Harry F. Anderson Invitational
On October 16, the Roberts Wesleyan cross-country teams ran their final home invitational of the year. This invitational proved to be a good day for both the men and women from Roberts.
The men's overall winner was freshman Julius Rono (Kenya, Africa) with a time of (25:41), while the women's overall winner was Erin Doak (Scotia, NY) with a time of (18:28). The women finished second overall and the men came in third overall beating out Mercyhurst College by one point.
Julius Rono had an interesting race in that he was leading the race with about a mile to go and then he fell. After falling he soon regained his composure and went after RIT's lead runner junior Diego Grisales and eventually caught him and never looked back. Erin Doak was one of the top three for most of the race when she decided to turn it on and ended up finishing with a commanding lead over the rest of the women competitors.
The cross-country team was to participate in the RPI invitational in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, October 20.
