Full day kindergarten forum scheduled for Spencerport
The Spencerport Central School District will hold a Community Forum on Tuesday, November 16, to discuss whether the district should implement a full-day kindergarten rather than the current half-day sessions. The forum will be held at 6 p.m. in Room 15, Administration Building, 71 Lyell Avenue.
A committee, comprised of district staff, teachers and parents, has been meeting this fall to investigate the full-day kindergarten program including looking at the academic and developmental needs of children, long-term effects of full-day kindergarten, costs and space issues. The committee will make a recommendation to Superintendent of Schools Phillip W. Langton this winter.
