Clarkson Historical Society welcomes new members
The Clarkson Historical Society was formed from a group of concerned Clarkson residents who wanted to help save the old Clarkson Schoolhouse. And this year, members say, the Schoolhouse has been saved with the installation of a new roof.
With an ever-growing membership, the society wants people to know that this is the time of year to renew their membership, or come on board for the first time. During the past year, members have heard presentations on the old Trolley Car routes between Rochester and outlying areas, invited two town historians to speak about Albion/Gaines and, most recently, about Kendall, traveled on two field trips - one to see Brockport Episcopal Church's Tiffany windows and another for a tour of the 79-year-old Oliver Middle School.
Membership meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:15 p.m. at the Justice Court House in Clarkson. For information call president Mary Edwards, 637-5810.
