More than 35 area employers expected to attend job fair

More than 35 local employers plus several agencies that serve veterans, including the New York State Department of Labor and the NYS Division of Veterans Affairs, are expected to attend the Veterans Outreach Center's 4th Annual Veterans Job Fair on Wednesday, November 10. The Job Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the United States Army Reserve Center, 2035 Goodman Street North in Rochester.

Veterans are encouraged to bring their discharge papers and resume if available. Employers will be seeking candidates to fill jobs in many fields, including communications, food service, health care, hospitality, maintenance, manufacturing and utilities.

Since 1973, the Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., the oldest community-based veteran outreach effort in the nation, has proactively sought out veterans in need. Services include mental-health and substance abuse counseling, vocational training, and housing for homeless veterans.
