BCSD collects hats for troops

In honor of Veterans Day and in support of the troops serving overseas, Brockport Central School has designated the week of November 8-12 as "Hats from Home" week. The district is collecting new, unworn baseball-style hats to send a piece of home to troops overseas.

Hats can include logos from local or national sports teams, company logos, organizations, and clubs and similar emblems. Collection boxes will be in the Main Office of each building. BCSD is working with retired high school health teacher Dick Kingdon who began the "Hats from Home" project last spring and has since sent out approximately 8,000 hats. The goal of the project is to collect 150,000 hats.
