Hamlin Firefighters receive Wal-Mart grant

The Hamlin Fire Department accepted a "Safe Neighborhood Heroes Grant" for $1,000 from the Wal-Mart Corporation. Department members expect to replace their current Jaws-of-Life that was purchased 15 years ago. The grant will help offset the cost of approximately $45,000 needed for replacement. Hamlin Fire Department President Michael Gross accepted the check from Brockport Wal-Mart Manager Drew Coleman on November 4. Michael Gross has been working with Community Involvement Coordinator Penny Shiffer on this project.
