Brockport police officers receive commendation

Brockport Police Officers Christopher Curley, Steve Mesiti and Ralph Gleason received Certificates of Appreciation at the 2004 Monroe County Traffic Safety Board/Monroe County STOP-DWI Program Eighth Annual Safety Awards Luncheon. Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks was the featured speaker at the event.

Brockport Police Chief Dan Varrenti said that the Brockport police officers and other law enforcement officers from other local police agencies were honored for leading their respective departments in DWI enforcement.

"No one ever thanks police officers for making a DWI arrest or for the life they may have saved by making the arrest or the issuance of tickets." Varrenti said, "I am very proud of Officers Curley, Mesiti and Gleason and all the officers of the Brockport Police Department for making the village of Brockport a safer village to live in and visit."
