Lions starting new foundation
At a recent meeting of the Hilton Lions Club, Past District Governor Neil Newman of Hamlin explained a new state wide foundation that the Lions have created. The Lions Camp Badger Foundation is to build an endowment for the Lions Camp Badger for future financial security and the needs of the camp.
Camp Badger is a six week residential co-educational summer school program housed in a camp-like setting in the Finger Lakes area. It provides an instructional curricula for speech and hearing impaired children and children from special educational programs. Goals of the camp include preventing summer regression, improving a student's skills and providing a respite for the family. Lion Neil Newman is now serving as vice president of the new foundation.
