Murals bring history alive

World history, from dinosaurs to the digital age, is starting to come alive on the walls of Spencerport's Cosgrove Middle School. As part of a two-year project, students, teachers and volunteers have been painting murals throughout the building representing a history timeline. Dinosaurs, Leonardo da Vinci sketches and the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence are among the murals starting to appear. From left, Elizabeth Didas and Trisha Cockey, Cosgrove eighth graders, are painting notes of the Gregorian Chant, one of the earliest known written music notations, in the music classroom hallway. All curricular areas are selecting mural topics related to their subjects.
