Seymour Library unveils Story Tower
Elias Will, William and Mikkiya Norton obey the directions of Children's Librarian Cathy Henderson "Don't peek!" as the curtains are withdrawn on the new entrance to the Children's Room's Story Tower at the Seymour Library in Brockport. The combination of structure and mural was created by local artist and art instructor Mary Beth Doran, with a lot of help from the community. "The Friends of the Seymour Library donated funds to make this happen. It's a combination of a structural piece and a mural to brighten up the children's area. The structural piece took about three months to build; the mural took six days. Five local men moved the structure from a barn where it was stored, courtesy of Norman and Charlotte Wright. Donations were made by Stull Hardware and Chase Pitkin and Thermal Foams Inc. donated delivery of materials," Doran said. Photograph by Walter Horylev.
