Jeter achieves Eagle Scout rank

Allen J. Jeter a scout with Troop 59 in Clarendon, has risen to the rank of Eagle Scout. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in January and the formal ceremony took place on May 1.

Jeter's Eagle project was conducted at the Holley High School. Prior to graduation ceremonies at the school, he and his crew of scouts and parents tore up a 10 x 40 foot section of sod in front of the school and replaced it with a permanent garden of perennial flowers, weed proof material, wood chips and a commemorative stone and plaque.

The project was started many months in advance through planning and contributions sought from local businesses. This project was completed before graduation. This garden will remain under the care of the scout troop.
